i have been using switchpod for my podcast, (first real episode will be out on sunday, url is www.switchpod.com/users/malcolmthrock/feed.xml) and i was wondering how do you write an episode description, and how do you create a filename with spaces? when i upload the file, it replaces spaces with underscores, and it has .mp3 next to it. how do i get rid of that?

It's possible that Switchpod's file naming conventions do not allow for spaces in file names and there has to eb a character in each space of the name. As for the .MP3 file extension - it's not that big a deal really - that's evidently the way that Switchpod does things. Does Switchpod have a "File Description" you can fill out and use spaces and name your podcast anyway that you want? Maybe the "File Description" is what you want to look into - as opposed to the filename.

But it's true. I'm not going to lie to you, when you seem not to know that every file needs a file-ending which says what type of file it is. In Windows, the corrent endings does not show normally, but if a file hasn't an ending like .mp3, or .exe or .doc it isn't a file. So hoenstly, that's why I said you should reconsider podcasting cause you have still a lot to learn about computers.

I think you actually have a lot to learn about computers, because there ARE ways that the file-ending can be hidden. So I'm going to tell YOU to reconsider podcasting, because knowing about file-endings certainly has so much to do with it.

i know it needs a file ending. this is what i was trying to say:
on my computer, which is a mac, when you locate the actual file, (music > itunes music > podcast > the lost podcast with jay and jack > Lost Podcast (AAC)_ Ep. 2.37 _Left Behind_.m4a) it has the .m4a on it. when i locate it in itunes (library > podcast > the lost podcast with jay and jack > Lost Podcast (AAC): Ep. 2.37 “Left Behind”) it has spaces, and it had no .mfa at the end. so clearly it can be hidden. i was asking how, not asking for you to tell me to stop podcasting. i have never listened to the 3 heroes podcast, because i am not a fan of heroes, so i will not tell you to stop podcasting until i have actually listened to the podcast. if you have listened, i am open to constructive criticism, and would gladly accept that comment. and how can you judge my knowledge of computers by that 1 statement? i'm no tech expert, but i do know a lot about macs, i can animate in flash, record and edit music and podcasts, and do a ton of other stuff. if you don't know what political party adolf hitler was in, should you fail history? if you don't know how to find the area of a circle, should you be cicked out of geometry? no. you should be helped, and informed so that you do know.
