Gabriella is SPANISH! Her father said Gracias, not merci(french) or whatever thank you is in Italian! Also Por Que is something I heard, another Spanish word for: Why.

Well from what i know about Spanish and Italian (my great grandfather was Italian and his neighbor was Spanish and they would talk to each other using there own languages) They are very similar.
But In all honesty I think I have heard that they are speaking Italian more than Spanish. Living next to Mexico for the majority of my life doesn't really help because Mexican Spanish, and Spanish Spanish are like two different things

It is Italian. I remember I saw an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond, and Ray's family was speaking Italian but I understood most of it since it sounded a bit like Spanish.
And in closed captioning for the episode it said "(Speaking Italian)". Also there were rumors of an Italian couple being in this episode, and those rumors were confirmed. Besides. The Italian guy looked like he was in the Italian mafia or something.
