I don't know if this has already been discussed but I have a theory about the Island's strange illness in connection to the hitting of the execute button every 108 minutes. My theory is, if the execute button is not pushed, an outbreak of the illness that Rousseau's team faced will spread throughout the island making people sick. The hatch is used for a safe place away from the outbreak, which is why the doors are so thick and why it says Quarantine on it. Maybe the "others" are sick people driven insane by the illness and possibly could be the incident mentioned on the orientation film. I love your podcast, you guys are awesome!!
