Time frame for Lost

I have heard a theory about the timeframe that lost is set in.
Apparently when Michael is drawing in the hospital for Walt when Walt is a kid on the drawing it is seen to say 2004 on it.
Now this would indicate that the crash is et roughly 8 years in the future.
Anyone got anything that will quash this or strengthen it?

Dunno about that but the official 'Lost' magazine lists them crashing on the day of the actual series premiere. Which is most likely wrong.
