If this girl really is Alex, then they lied about Jessica. Because that was the girl from Malcom. She was Cynthia (The totally geeky girl with crazy hair). She looks a lot different, since that was 5 years ago, but it was definitely her.

No one lied about anything.
Jessica was simply a rumor, and a huge one at that, even though it was published in TV Guide, I do believe, but the writer's specfically didn't deny or confirm anything. I remember in one podcast they were being sarcastic about someone question about her, so most implied that she was going to show up. And as you said, we still don't really know if she is Alex, but its heavily implied that she is. But just because she hasn't shown up yet doesn't mean Jessica never will.

The rumor was that the girl playing Jessica was a guest star on Malcom in the Middle. The girl who played "Alex" was a guest star on Malcom.

she just appeared in a forum and grow from all the fans
