Born to Run is the Kate-centric episode from Season 1, and I have just been rewatching it. It's the one that she starts out blond, and you don't really know who she is... anyway... the opening scene the make a point to show her changing liscense plates, and then they pan over to kids hitting each other, then a dad presumably, and finally they show a housekeeper. It's probably irrelevant, but I'm pretty sure the housekeeper is a man. She has a yellow dress on, and short curly hair... but she also has a man's watch on, which is what caught my eye. She also has blunt fingers- which are the one way I know of to tell a man from a woman. Not sure if this means anything, or is just a casting thing. They show her hands a lot, almost like they may be making a point.... eh, who knows. it's probably nothing, with this show one can never be too sure. ~Katie

Actually, from that picture, you can't tell whether it is a man or a woman... trust me on this, I have a friend that is a drag queen diva... here's the secret... hands out boys and girls... a woman's fingers taper off at the tips, and a man's fingers are blunt, and no amount of make up, or tape, or wigs can cover that. The secret is her hands. From what I could catch of them, she had a man's watch on, and her fingers appeared blunt ended. I'm not convinced by her hair, and not all men have obvious adam's apples. Maybe she's a woman, but I agree there's something strange about this shot. There's something strange about the way they zoom down to her hands. Can you get a good shot of her fingers Matts? Suppose for a moment that she is a man, we may see her again, like say the balloon guy... there are some similarities... who is to say that some of the people don't go in disguise? ... or maybe I'm carried away again... who knows with this show.

I never noticed the housekeeper thing...maybe the hands were just a double.
However, speaking of that scene when I first saw it I thought the kids hitting each other were Boone and Shannon. They seem a little young, though, wasn't Shannon (or perhaps Boone) eight when they became siblings? Just a thought.

Interesting, but Kate's not that much older than them as you put it. She's A little older but not that much....at least I don't think so.
