I like the theory, but how does the comment that Kate made about being awake for the whole crash fit in with this theory. I can't remember which first season episode she said that in but that's the first thing that popped into my head when the theory was made on the podcast...

I posted this in Jack's board... but it fits here too. Rose took the oxygen mask for sure:

Oh Yeah.....Maybe the theory up until the point of Rose being invloved is what we need to consider...

I really don't understand the fascination with people thinking that there is something more to Rose and Bernard that meets the eye. What reason have they given us to think so? Just because we don't know anything about their past yet, doesn't mean that they have a dark one.

True....I don't think Rose and Bernard are evil...or had anything to do with the plane crashing!

If Rose didn't use the Oxygen mask, maybe that is why Jack had to do CPR on her on the beach right after the crash.

I want a Rose/Bernard centered episode. I think they have earned one. I mean, hey, isn't Libby getting one? Why not R&B?

Well you are the doctor aren't you Annie? Is that plausible? What if she banged her head or just passed out? I can't tell by those pics if she used the mask.

Well who's to say she reached for it and then was like, "ah no im cool. No oxygen for me." That's the last frame of her grabbing the mask, so I am led to assume she wanted to live and she took the mask.
It's a toss up.

Who knows? Any of that could have happened. Maybe she was too uncoordinated to get it on right or hers didn't work. But she was the one who had to have CPR, so it is interesting. Of course after about 6 minutes at body temperature with no oxygen, the brain starts to suffer permanent damage, so we are taught.

Well the fact of the matter is she reached for the mask. If she didn't want the oxygen because she knew it would dope her up, then she wouldn't put her face near the thing. I doubt she would be afraid of people wondering why shes not taking the oxygen... at that point, everyone is worrying about themselves. So she wouldn't need to reach for the mask to pass off to other people on the flight that she is a normal person.
I think that she took the oxygen. I for one actually don't think that the masks had any weird gas to knock them out. How could anyone [Dharma] be sure that all the people on the flight would take it? Doesn't seem like a surefire plan to get everyone knocked out.

I watched for that in the pilot last night, and she had it on. One of my friends is borrowing my dvds right now, but when I get it back I'll try to get a screencap.
