I'm sure that "plot seepage" is one of the reasons they have such a small filming buffer...

And matt, I've watched the pilot and the thing flying over the wing is just one of the shirts that's flying all over the place. It's much too solid looking to be the smoke. And also, the engine explodes because a guy gets sucked into it.
I wish they hadn't shown us the new hatch that claire finds, that would have been muy awesome to just find that out by ourselves.

The symbol on the new hatch confirms the constellation connection with the timer heiroglyphics and the other hatches, so that seepage didn't bother me much.
