This show has more weeks off than any other show in the word  . ITs getting really annoying.....when I talk to people who used to be into this show they all say the reason they stoped watching was because they would play a new episode, and the a re-run the next week. I am starting to understand what they are saying......its getting REALLY irritating.... Am I wrong here? Does Lost take the normal amount of weeks off? How is it compared to other shows? |

The thing is, I could care less about the OC. They do it with Desperate Housewives and Invasion too. 24 has the right idea; 24 straight weeks of new stuff.

most shows that run a full season have to take breaks inorder to be able to keep airing new ep. untill june (end of the average season) most shows do this we just only notice it in LOST because its so addictive!!!!

Lost doesn't take any more breaks than any other show. It's just because you want to see it. Try to remember it does take quite some time to actually write/cast/shoot/edit these things. At least a week for just the shooting for one ep., I'm sure.
That plus the extended break over the holidays is to let the people wind down, chill out and spend time with their families too, while the production team cranks up for the resuming of activity during the next shooting block.

Being that you attacked The OC, i attack you. One thing that really pisses me off is when people always say i could care less, I understand alot of you may not quite grasp the concept of english. But if you are trying to convey how much the subject has no interest to you, by saying you could care less, means there is still some point of interest. Now had you said I couldn't care less, which is what the proper term is, I wouldn't have to rant like this. Thank you. |

Haha, that was pretty funny.
It's all about the "Sweeps". Everyone loves the way 24 does their show now because they are showing it now. I guarantee that if you asked the same question in November, everyone would be hating on 24 for not starting with all the other shows. Lost has to start after the summer time around all the other big shows and it has the same 25ish episodes as most all of the other ones and ends around the same time. They have to save the good shows for sweeps. They might would normally have more right now, but they have time to take a break and won't lose viewers to the Olympics.

Wow......The O.C is one of my favorites as well, and this whole TV season is screwed up! after 2 episodes a break, 1 more airs...another break...Invasion is now shelved for 6 weeks cause a new show called EVIDENCE is taking it's place for a while, but it's coming back!

Don't nobody say nuthin bad about Invasion! I'll lose it! Last weeks was pretty darn good. They better not cancel it after I've invested so much time in it. Its great sci-fi.

I love the lost breaks. dont get me wrong, i'd much rather have tons of epps in a row. But if they spilt the weeks w/o shows up along the year, we have plenty of material to speculate about, and develop theories over. after the first month or so of the end-of-season break, all the theories will be developed and there won't be any new material, which leaves a few more months of people forgeting about the show, and diehards complaining. I'd much have a week off between eppisodes than that same week extend the break

I don't really mind the breaks to be honest...as they said on the latest podcast, I'd rather it be this way than have thirty weeks of nothing. Besides, there have been a few weeks where I was busy when Lost aired, but luckily they were reruns each time. So I'm content!
