How did he know it was heroin? It didn't appear as if any of the statues were broken yet when he said "Want to know what's in your d**n plane, Locke? Heroin." and threw the statue down, to reveal the heroin. So how did he know? Of course it's possible the broken one(s) were out of sight, but when I saw it I thought "Hmmm" Call me a crackpot if you want, lol. Statues when Boone found them:

I can only assume he saw a broken one.

Most likely, but still...like HJ said "How does everyone know what heroin looks like?"

Did Boone say "heroin"?
I believe he just said they were drug smugglers.

I am pretty sure he said heroin sometime before he fell to his death.

it looked to me like some of them were broken, a plane crash is probably a pretty nasty incident, and i imagine one or two of those little plaster statues would have broken.
Also, check out the bottem of the statue, it looks like it has been cut out and filled. Is that a tally?

Dirge - Yeah, the quote is "Here's your sign. They're drug smugglers, Locke. Heroin, that's all that's in here."
