When Sawyer told him Jack was going to come for the guns, the look on his face was "DANGER DANGER!"...very strange. He wasn't merely concerned, or slightly worried. He was freaking the hell out. Any thoughts on why?

Mob mentality. Not easy to deal with when he is one against an angry mob.
Also I don't think Locke imagined he would be in this kind of situation when he was talking all about how the Island is special and beautiful and his destiny, etc. Somehow I think he had a more peaceful, spiritually uplifting Island experience in mind.

yeah, but it's not working out. No matter what you do to keep the bad from getting in it always finds a way...

Also he sincerely feels responsible for Michael going gun crazy. I think he of all people realizes that the Others are more dangerous than normal people, maybe even supernatural. I mean think about it, he suddenly can walk since the crash and he has seen Smokey(the munster) face to face at least twice. Locke even wanted Jack to back off when Zeke confronted them. If crazy and angry mob gets guns, Locke feels things will escalate into a full-blown war with the Others. I think Locke believes the Others would win.
