How did Goodwin picked those to be abducted ?

I was wondering if anyone has an idea how Goodwin chose the people that have be abducted ?

The first night 3 were taken, then the tailies had to wait something like 8 days to have another 9 taken away ! Why so long ? Has Goodwin been checking the tailies one by one to look for physical traits that can be recognized ?

I don't think he has any mental powers as when they discovered the radio, he wanted to take it away and probably destroy it later in the jungle. So is this a sign that the Others use radio to communicate with each other ?

I think the list was created perhaps even before the plane crashed, but it's something that will have to be revealed in a future episode.

One thing I did find interesting was when Goodwin looked Ana Lucia in the eye and explained why Nathan wasn't on the list.

It was as if he was saying, "That's the reason YOU weren't on the list either."

Well either way, the list tells us that someone had prior knowledge to Oceanic 815`s crash which opens up a huge can of worms.
