I think I may have figured something out?

If we remember, Ethan said he was from Ontario. Now I can't imagine another Ontario, so that would be Canada. Goodwin, also said he was from Canada. They were both "others", as we will call them presently. We also remember remote viewing from the Orientation video. Also, the studies and the Dharma Initiative were started at the University of Michigan, near Canada, very near in fact. Also, I may not have caught it, but I think Nathan as an "other", right? If so, he had that US knife, which could mean that the Dharma Initiative was a government sponsored thing.

I think the "others" are really people observing the survivors from the crash and watching them to see what people do in times of crisis. I think that was one of the main things of the Dharma Initiative, was to watch people in times of crisis and fast thinking, the plane crash survivors, and to watch people when they are sort of brain-washed into thinking something bad will happen, Desmond and the computer.

It was just something that came to me last night while I was watching the show and heard that Goodwin came from Canada and was an "other".

Actually, wasn't it Nathan who said he was from Canada, right? But it definitetly is one of the better theories I've heard supporting a government conspiracy.

I don't think Nathan was an Other. I think Goodwin simply had some good in his heart, and I also don't honestly think the Others meant to kill anyone.

OH AND ALSO! I remember my A.P. History teacher saying something that a good few of Canadians speak French. Danielle speaks French...could she have come from Canada??? But that leads me to my next question...and that is simply why were they all the way over near Fiji from Canada??

So here's some answers I've put together:
"The Others" never meant to hurt anyone, but are getting violent because the islanders are killing them off

Danielle is from Canada...and is she an Other too?
And there are people watching them. Refer to LOSTCasts "Podcast #8 is Live!" for a breakdown in the whispers heard. Not trying to promote another podcast (if that's against the rules) but it's REALLY neat to listen to it. It's an hour and 5 minutes, but WELL WORTH IT! And they also have interesting theories.

So that's what I'm thinking as of now.

But seriously, i agree that the others at least see themselves as doing good. When in fact it may be bad. Only time will tell.
