Crackpot theory about Jacob's brother

My crackpot theory is that Jacob's brother's name was Desmond.
When Jacob threw his brother down the cave of light his brother died and the smoke monster took over his form (as he later would take over Locke's form but not his actual body). However I believe that Jacob's bother has returned, but it is not Smokey, but Desmond. The evidence is that we know nothing about Desmond's childhood, and that he keeps calling everybody "Brother".

Well, Desmond has mentioned having brothers and calls people brother because he lived with monks.... But yeah, it's a unique theory. It would be an interesting twist for Desmond's character.
