I had to chuckle at Jay's attempt at Filipino at the one email he read on the last episode.
I thought I'd help out and give a phoenetic spelling for what I think he was trying to say. I'm a Filipino-American living in Manila and speak Filipino (Tagalog) fluently. I loved the shout out to the Philippines in Jughead. I think it was because there's a sizeable Filipino community in Hawaii, that they were able to get a lot of people to act as themselves really.
Mabuhay (muh-boo-high): It really does mean "long life", but it can also be used as a greeting and good bye, much like the word "Aloha".
Zamboanga, Sibugay (Zam-bow-ong-guh Sih-boo-guy): Here's the URL of the Wikipedia entry on this place - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mabuhay,_Zamboanga_Sibugay . However, just as likely, Desmond & Penny could have landed anywhere in the Philippines. Since it's a port, the Mabuhay could have just been a greeting to people arriving, just as Aloha may be used in marinas in Hawaii.
