Karma- and why I (dont) care

Hello community.
First of all-

It does look like I am being accused of behaving not in accord with the high values of this board, by smiting others and not kissing the bodypart that would often be used for vaccinations.


I consider this to be a Lost-related message board and I am coming here to see people
.


Being a practicing buddhist I really cannot take the issue of karma seriously, when it´s being used to pamper people for behaviour I personally consider ridiculous.


I am not accusing anyone of abuse, but feel entitled to express my dislike the in same manner (smiting) and after all , it is a tool of this board I am being asked to express my dislike with it rather than posting rude statements.

Being asked to
feels like censorship and was not part of the user agreement I signed.

I know for a fact, I am not completely on my own with this ( inflation of karma ) ,but perhaps I am the only one being frank about it and to act in accord with my conviction (others have left for this reason, I won´t.

I am treating everyone fairly (equally) , no pampering, no prejudices or holding back because someone may be considered young, handicapped or simple minded.

I would feel disrespectful "playing house" and pretending this would be Lala-land, that would be a denial of reality and would ridicule the great effort J&J put into this over the years.

Hey as long as you tell the person or people your smiting then thats cool(ok smiting not cool but I think you get the idea). I just don't approve of people who smite and hide.....smite and tell why your smiting.

So if you participate in something like say, a karma kon or exalting frenzy, you're kissing the designated person's ass.

If you don't go crazy and post all of your theories about Lost, then you don't belong on the board because it's a place to talk about Lost, not chill out and have fun with some other people with common interests.

Board karma is just like real life karma. You have to earn it through good deeds, not just because a banner says that you should be exalted. Otherwise, it's cause for smiting.

You have every right to express your dislike of a person, but they also have every right to express their like of another person by exalting them without a "real" reason.

No one tried to censor you at all.

Then why am I the one translating this into terms that closely describe - or at least hint towards - the reasoning behind said smiting AND as a result, this post? Be frank and tell us who you have been smiting every hour on the hour and flat out WHY you're doing it.

Then you better start smiting me too because I only contribute to Lost discussions when they are the episode discussions or some other special occasion. Some of us like to read everyone's theories and won't waste time repeating the same one that somebody else has. I also should be smited because I believe that your main issue has to do with the random bestowing of karma that occurs on the thread "Colleen's Karma" and since I am its namesake, I should be the one who is down so many karma points. And technically, let's be honest here - I didn't really do anything to deserve the karma swap in the first place other than make a bet with Jay.

pretty uncalled for, I had expected more of you.

And it is curious, that you post assumed answers to questions I had already answered privately, only to see them turned and twisted for the sake of a public bashing - cloaked as a so called translation. You should get into the abusive/sneaky journalism chor, if that is what you are really into.
