I've been thinking about all the questions that didn't get answered, and figure "what an opportunity for a writer" Not Darlton, of course. They said no way. But in a year or two, someone could tie up loose ends. I'm sure they know they'd have the fan base for it!!! We can hope!!

Yeah but unless Darlton was involved I wouldn't call it canon, and so I wouldn't buy into it. It would just be like glorified fan theorizing.

As sad I am that it's all over for the Series itself, I wouldn't want anything else to happen unless it was the original crew, otherwise we stand to have people destroying the show with new writers who were just fans that have derailed a shows legacy in the past.
NO REMAKE IN 20 YEARS EITHER PLEASE!

I could see a Hurley Linus extension on the island, maybe the next big cycle of losties...
That said, there are a ton of loose ends, some of which they should have given at least a hint of an answer to.
For instance why is there a cabin that moved around the island? Why was their ash around it? Was Smokey trapped there for some period of time? Why did Ben think Jacob was there when it seemed to be known Jacob was tied to the foot at least to Richard. Wouldn't Richard know that Ben wasn't talking to Jacob?
Just one example of a pretty big plot point that was essentially not really addressed whatsoever.

As for Jacob and the cabin - I don't think Ben actually thought anyone was there - he was trying to BS Locke - maybe even kill him - when all of a sudden - someone who was trapped there - it wasn't Jacob (as you said - he was more than likely hanging out at the foot - and I doubt that he was passing Richard his notes from the cabin) - it couldn't have been Blackie (he was all over the place on the island) - tried to reach out for help to get out of there.
So - either they totally screwed up that particular thread of the story - I mean if Jacob was hanging out at the foot and Blackie was roaming the island - who was let out when the ring of ash was broken (as we saw when Ilana and her merry band went to the cabin)?
I kind of jokingly said on another thread that I was writing "LOST II - The Hurley Years" - Who knows - it might be a fun little thing - a Summer Writing Project if you will. Not sure yet if I want to do anything like that.
I can just see it now . . . . . . . (add the swirly visuals and harp music)
Hurley and Ben - travelling around the world on their island - spinning the donkey wheel - not knowing where - or when - they would show up - one day materialize the island in the Atlantic and crashing into a Carnival Cruise ship that ends up in the middle of the jungle.
Just a thought

Yeah, I really was hoping for the cabin thing to be cleared up. Although after it didn't appear in Across the Sea, I didn't really expect it to be in the finale.

I wouldn't watch anything at all about LOST now. It's over and I want it to be.
I theorize this is what a Heroin addict experiences once he is clean. Oh, you still want it, but you know it's wrong and what it will do, but you still want it. Be strong and say "no". I have found the Methadone Center now.
But I still hang around with my "junkie" friends and talk about the good old days when we used to shoot up smack once a week for an hour.
Recovery is a pregnant dog but we will get through. Right?
