What did everyone think?
I thought it was great, until the end. There didn't seem to be any resolution to Sawyer's story in the parallel timeline, which was kinda disappointing. Also, I don't see how Sawyer plans to pilot the sub...
I really loved the scene where Claire tries to kill Kate. Also, Smokey's little speeches to everyone were interesting.

You forget, Sawyer has experience hijacking subs!
Good stuff.. no crazy questions or revelations/answers though.
I was wondering why Sawyer would let Kate go at the airport if he was a cop. I think its just his usual motif.. his heart isn't in it (to be a cop) and he's just using it to hunt down Anthony Cooper.
That seemed like a pretty big sub, by the way, and i thought I saw alot more than 6 people. So Sawyer is probably lying here. And Sawyer met Widmore during Jughead, so wouldn't at least one of them recognize the other? Widmore should remember these crazy guys that appeared/disappeared, and Sawyer should remember Widmore's name as the army dude that captured them. They're obviously both lying to each other regardless..
Was Widmore's Lady Con girl the same girl that sawyer tried to con in the Sideways? She was a terrible liar! (obviously acted on purpose as such.) I didn't fall for her act for a second on island!
I guess the biggest thing that this episode hammered into me is that yet again, EVERYONE is in LA. This can't be coincidence.

also, our journey back to Hydra and the canoes definitely had me theorizing like crazy about who shot at our Nose Bleeders in their canoe. I'm betting this has to be related to what we're seeing now.. for a second, i thought Sawyer would be shooting at himself on the journey over. As he found Widmore's sub, I thought he would escape and they'd come after him shooting, only to shoot at the Bleeders instead. I definitely think we will see this scene now explained somehow. Wouldn't it be funny if Sawyer/Kate try to sneak around the back of the sub while Widmore/unLocke are fighting it out, and end up shooting at The Bleeders on the water, thinking its Widmore's men?

Yeah, why was Liam in LA? That's kinda odd. And Charlotte of course.... How does she know Miles in this timeline?
I agree...the canoes popping up again...it's only a matter of time before we see who was shooting last season.

Yeah, why was Liam in LA? That's kinda odd. And Charlotte of course.... How does she know Miles in this timeline? We found out last week that Ben and Roger Linus were on the island in the 70's, right? Well, so were Charlotte and Miles as children. Granted, they are a few years apart, but it reasonable that their parents knew each other, and somehow they grew up knowing each other when they returned from the island.

I could kinda see that. 6 year age difference, though. Somewhat odd.

Let's assume that when Juliet set off the bomb that it "worked" and flight 815 didn't crash. Not only does that mean that the Losties didn't end up on the island, it also means that the Losties didn't go back in time during time shifts. That means, at the very least, that the Losties didn't meet Jughead, and Sayid didn't shoot Ben. As a result, events which occurred as a result of the crash of 815 didn't happen. Thus, the alternate timeline created by Juliet setting off the bomb has a much farther reaching effect than 815 not crashing. So, it's plausible that the island sunk for another reason, and, before it did, Roger got he and Ben off the island. And so on.
At least, I hope my theory is close. If not, I feel as though the flash sideways stories are kind of like back up stories in comic books. You feel like you want to like them, but they also feel disposible, like they don't have any meaning or connection to anything else. I'll be disappointed if the series ends and these stories have no connection to the main story. If we find out that they are just "alternate" possibilities, then I'll feel like I've wasted my time. Yeah, the stories are pretty good, but they are just one of a million "pretty good stories" that could be told with these characters. I want them to have some meaning.
On another note, so who is Man In Locke's mother? I feel like we are given major clues today as to who Man In Locke is (crazy mother, causes trouble for her son), but I don't have any guesses. Anyone?
Also, is it just me, or has he lied to everyone? Has he ever told the truth?
Finally, when Kate was talking to Sayid, just before Clare jumped her, it sounded like she called him Claryid, a combination of Clare and Sayid. Did I hear that wrong (all four times I backed up the DVR) or did she say that?

I really liked that episode. Not too many questioned answered but theres still 8 episodes left. I was hoping that Miles' friend was Juliet, but alas it was Charalotte (man she has a white back ). I like that Miles and Sawyer are cops now they just have to recruit Jin. Crazy Claire almost took out Kate, but Locke slapped her out of it (ouch) I totaly forgot the Widmore came on the sub not until I saw the pile-on being set up did I remember. I knew that that women wasn't telling the truth I just thought she was with Ilana. What's in that locked room on the sub, could it be a prisioner (Charlie) or maybe a hydrogen bomb to blow up the island as a fail safe.

You might be right but maybe the reason why he didn't stop her because he didn't want anyone to know that he was on that plane from Australia.

Really? I totally missed that line! Guess that cements Dr. Chang is still around in this timeline too. And stuck with his family.
I also wish to say I'm extremely pleased Phil didn't turn up as a fellow cop.

Why did Widmore not get off the sub? Wouldn't he set up camp and be in a more comfortable surrounding than a sub?
Why have a meeting with James in the sub?
You can't trust either of these two for anything.
What's behind the locked door? HMMMMMM!

Looked like Widmore was doing paperwork in a mini office. Maybe it'd be just too much of a hassle to move all that outside the sub.
Plus, why set up an elaborate camp when all you need is in a sub already ready to go?

I'm guessing when Sawyer went to Australia he didn't shoot that guy this time. I wonder if he still talked to Jacks dad?
I wonder if Miles is now kind of like that guy from "Pushing Daisies" and can talk to the dead after they die and find out who killed them.

Haha, I loved Pushing Daisies. But Ned was like Miles combined with Jacob, since he touched the dead and brought them back to life to find out who killed them.
