A Few Thoughts

At the end of season 5, Ben walked into the four toed statue and plunged a dagger into Jacob and killed him....easy peasy, right!?!?
Now I'm left wondering why Sayid's attempt at killing Smokey/UnLocke did not work.

Now I know you're all gonna say that Dogen was very specific about not letting Smokey speak to him first, that if even one word was spoken it would be too late....but why? Could it be because Sayid's inner scale tips to the bad side like Dogen suggested?? Hopefully we find out because I still hold on to the idea that Sayid is only 'bad' because of Jacob's manipulation. I believed Sayid when he said that he is a good man.

I'm also left wondering why Sayid didn't kill Ben by the 'healing pool.' The last time we saw the two together, Sayid shot little Ben and left him for dead!?!?!?!

Also a bit confused as to why Claire didn't go all Rambo on Kate in the hole or afterwards. My thoughts are that Claire's inner scale tips more to the good which allows her the possibility of ridding her body of Smokey's influence. And that's why Kate is with Smokey's flock. Kate will redeem herself by saving Clair and re-uniting her with Aaron and Jack. I think she may die in the process.

Is it just me or do you feel the death of Miles and Lapidus is just around the corner? Both characters have had no relevance this season so far. What I'm dying to know is what Miles heard from Sayid in the two hours he was dead.

That's it. What an amazing season so far, and with only 12 hours left I am anxious to see how this all plays out.

Bram's bullet didn't work on MIL either. My guess is that he's invincible. Either for a limited time or until some sort of process is done that turns him vincible again.

As for Sayid and Claire. Well, for one, bigger things were happening and timing is everything. Also, they're following MIL now. He may have ordered them not to kill anyone for now. At the very least, they may need to ask permission. MIL wouldn't want anyone that he can manipulate to his benefit being killed off.

I am worried for Miles and Lapidus, but at the same time they are regulars this season so I'm hoping the main cast doesn't start dropping until closer to the end at the very least.

As for what Miles heard? Not sure. We never saw him do his head bob routine so perhaps he never tried to pick up anything.

Good thought on Smokey being invincible...gets me thinking....

Maybe Smokey being invincible now has some to do with Locke's body being on the island. What if the scene we saw for next weeks episode, showing Ben digging a grave is actually Ben digging up Lockes body. Maybe his body needs to be destroyed in order for Smokey to be killable???

Jacob was killed in his own body, maybe since MIB took Lockes body form he's not really there and it just some kind of island trick that he appears to everyone else, but MIB is really in his hiding place.

I think that with Sayid being "infected", once he heard Flocke's voice he would be pulled completely in to his side. I think that although the bullet didn't even touch Flocke, the fact that Sayid is a candidate would have given him the ability to successfully kill Flocke, had he plunged the knife before Flocke spoke.

I think that the writers were specific to say that Sayid's scale tipped to the "wrong side (or wrong way)" instead of saying that it tipped to the bad side, or to evil. When I hear "wrong side" that can just mean the side that Dogen is opposed to, that Jacob is opposed to, but not necessarily the "bad" side.

It's been said more than once on the show that generally when someone says they're the good guys, they're usually lying.

But, I'm definitely with you...I want to know what Miles heard during those two hours!!!

I think he heard the intenal struggle between sayid and MIB, sayid was tring to just die and not let MIB infect him, but in the end his soul/spirit lost.
