He's not Locke, he's the Man in Black inhabiting Locke's body. How does he remember that Ben killed him?

He seems to have all of Locke's knowledge.

Yes, as monsterjester said, he appears to retain all of Locke's memories completely. He knows Ben, Sun and Frank, remembers meeting Ben in the hatch, etc.

But does the MIB retain all of Locke's memories??
I am putting this in Spoiler mode because some of it might be considered spoilery - but it's a theory I have kind of had since near the end of Season 5 - when I knew that Locke has to be the MIB .
Remember that - if you hold with my theory that everyone that we have seen on the island who is dead is the MIB - and that Smokey is a manifestation of the MIB - and we know that Smokey can - if not totally read minds - can at least scan them - he would know as soon as he gets in proximity to Ben that Ben killed Locke.
MIB knows the basics - like when he appears as Christian Shephard - he knows Jack is Chirstian's son - and Claire is his daughter - but he's never really said anything that would lead us to believe that he has all of Christian's memories.
MIB appears to people as people who are very meaningful in people's lives. Appearing as Yemi to Eko, Locke and Alex to Ben, Christian to Claire and Jack.
Just a thought (still in the process of becoming a theory LOL)

I'm going with the quirky theory that Locke is Locke, but an earlier time version of himself, and he met up with himself and explained it all.
