Well - to make it to the last Wednesday in May - there will have to be at least three weeks worth of breaks between now and then. If the finale - always a 2 parter - airs on 5/27 - and there are 9 episodes left (8 broadcast nights) - there are 11 Wednesdays between 3/18 and 5/27.

Please do not throw strones, rocks, Locke's wheerlchair or the Smoke Monster at me for bearing this news to you. Be strong of heart - I bring it to you do that you may prepare yourself for the coming travails. Better to know now - than to be startled in the future.

Either that - or there's no break and it ends on May 6 - which I seriously doubt - given the Sweeps and all that silliness.

I don't know why getting details on the schedule is so hard...but I did try to do a little bit of research via Google. It's looking more like May 20th will be the end date for Season 5 as it sounds like there will be a clip show in April (which takes the end to May 11) then the finale will probably be a two parter taking it to May 20th. Either way, it's probably safe to say that the break this week was a network decision.
