Btw, did you guys notice Widmore and Mikhail both had minor roles? I saw Widmore in the beginning, but where was Mikhail?

Should people who haven't seen it really be reading this thread? W/e Not trying to be picky, just better safe than sorry. The thread was actually started before it opened and only been out a few days so it's quite conceivable that people would read it without having seen it.

Sorry Dharmashark. My seeing it depends on when my dad wants to see it. I wanted to go to a midnight release, but it wasn't possible.

I saw it. It was okay. In fact it was really good. I don't think it completely lived up to the hype though. I'll give it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

I thought it was a very interesting turn for the series. What did you think?

Actually I thought it was pretty lame. It didn't feel like Indy at all. I know the Soviet chick had been talking about it halfway through but I was hoping they would discredit it in the end. The last half hour was just sucky compared to the first couple hours.
But I would still agree with your 4 1/2.

Ok...here is my question. I am a huge Indy fan. I spent the entire summer of 1981, when Raiders of the Lost Ark came out, going to the theater and watching it over and over. Hubby and I haven't been able to get a sitter so we haven't been to the movies since February. If I can get a sitter, assuming that this is my one shot out for months, would this be the movie to see?

I can only speak for myself when I say "yes." I, too, saw Raiders many times in the theatre starting the weekend it came out. I am a huge Indiana Jones fan and have already seen Crystal Skull 3 times. I admit there are things in it that I would not expect in an IJ film, but it is still very much in keeping with the themes of the movies in the action adventure genre. They do not try to make it seem like he is the same age. It takes place in 57, so much time has passed since his last on screen adventure. If you go into it expecting the humor and thrill-ride spectacle, then I think you will have a great time.
