It took me a while to figure out which one I like the best. It was a tie between Animal House, and Blues Brothers. So I put in for BB. Hey can we divide our vote? Half a vote for AH and half for BB?

I'm with you there! I mean how can you NOT LOVE a movie starring not only Chevy Chase (when he was funny) but Bill Murray (again, when he was funny), Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight AND a sound track including Kenny Loggins tunes? It's a classic!!

Seen all of them several times. I'm a bit perplexed by the voting for Blues Brothers and Animal House...one would have thought those totals would have been reversed. The Blues Brothers, while enjoyable and features a glittering list of musical and otherwise cameos - isn't actually that FUNNY a film. There are definitely funny moments ("Rawhide" at the bar is a definite highlight), but it isn't the guffaw fest that any of the other three films are. Animal House was a precedent setting comedy (both good and bad), has a plethora of quotable lines (take "We're on a mission from God" out of The Blues Brothers, and it's not exactly a memorably worded script - unless you count pages of police cars crashing as side-splitting), Belushi's most iconic screen appearance, and so much more. I can only guess many of the voters are relatively young, and haven't been exposed to this film.
National Lampoon's Vacation is darned funny - and yes, this was before Chevy Chase became such an apparent stick in the mud that he's just not remotely funny anymore...not for almost 20 years, actually.
But the true competition here - for FUNNIEST film of the four...is between ANIMAL HOUSE & CADDYSHACK. ANd that IS a tough one...but I'd have to go with Caddyshack - the loopy Bill Murray + the hilarious Rodney Dangerfield (Somebody sit on a duck?) tip the scales for Caddyshack...."cinderella story" that it is!
Of Course, older and more seasoned filmgoers - would have chosen a few different films for a comedy faceoff - Mel Brooks films: Young Frankenstein vs. Blazing Saddles vs. The Producers (the original, not the horrid thing that came out last year). Other comedies missing out from the 70's/early 80's: Stripes, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, The Jerk...

I agree that caddyshack is the funniest out of all of the films, but the blues brothers is mmy favorite film out of the films. its the only snl spinoff movie worth watching besides waynes world. and it has a ton of memeroble moments
the penguin scene (nothing said in that seen can be repeated here) when jake sees "the light" everything that is said when they drive through the mall john candy "this is car fifty five...we're in a truck!" when they go back to elwoods place and the old man yells "you got my cheese whiz boy?"
I'm sure there are others these are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head besides the mission from god and car crashes.
I cant really say I would go for a brooks face off over a ramis face off because both would be nice
and I would take stripes over any of the 4 movies in the versus this week

The use of unnecessary violence in the apprehension of the Blues Brothers...has been approved. Caddyshack still wins. Rodney is king! dave

Blues Brothers. I am from Chicago so it was required for me to watch this at an early age.
