Car-accident situation poll

There was a neat lil experiment on one of my fav sci/tech shows called "Quarks & Co" '(WDR/Germyland -Quarks.de)
A segment of the show tested reactions of drivers when passing by an accidentside.
And they did a poll about wether a car involved in an accident would explode.

Your opinion ?

I heard once that cars very seldom explode (even if it falls down a cliff) .. that this would be a TV legend ...

I've never been in situation like that. I really hope I would stop and try to help. I think I would. But honestly I can't say how I would react in real life ... if I was too scared or shocked (if I saw the accident happen).

My first aid course was a loong time ago. I need to refresh my knowledge. It's one of these things that I always have in mind to do one day ..

Hmm, I think a car can explode, but only if something is on fire in the car. So I don't know what to answer!
