yeah i hate the freezing thing. tho osx has gotten better, it still happens a lot. and windows machines almost never need to be rebooted, which is nice. tho individual programs sometimes crash on them too, its not quite as bad as the mac from my experience

Hey Shinra, sorry to hear about those bad experiences, but as for the reboot, one basically can restart the "Finder" without rebooting.and crashing 3rd party soft isnt exactly mac os related either imo.
Each his/her own mine is def. fruity

Or you could get your Mac and leave the PC to your husband LOL
. Now that's a good idea, Igmar. But I'm afraid this thing's gonna die at any minute. The disc drive opens and closes constantly and for no reason. Did I hear that iTunes is not compatible with Vista? That alone would be a good reason for me to go mac. Back a few months ago, I heard Leo Laporte (TWIT) say that Vista has a lot of problems. I can't think of any specifics off the top of my head, but that's made me want to steer clear of the new windows system.

i don't know what macs you're talking about, shinra. i got a mac for my birthday a few years back. it has never messed up, and it has a simple intuitive design. i saved up, and payed for half of my new macbook, and the rest was my bday present. at the same time, i got a free windows macbook on a scholarship thing. i didn't need it, so i gave it to my dad. my macbook is still running perfectly, and about a week ago, the pc broke. all the stuff you need for a windows computer has an alt. for a mac. i'm a flash animator, and i love my mac. i have microsoft office, ilife, firefox, toast, and acquisition. with that, i can do pretty much all i need on a computer. i'm a big gamer, but i usually stick to consoles. i don't think windows are reliable, but my mac is the best. if you think you might need a pc, make sure you have a friend that has one, just in case. i don't really need it, but some people do.

g.and crashing 3rd party soft isnt exactly mac os related either imo. I agree, its not apple or window's fault that third parties rush software or don't work out all the bugs before releases. and it does happen on both systems, i was just speaking about my experiences. I havent had any windows program that consistently crashes like macs have, tho i have heard people complain about progs doin the whole illegal operation thing and what not in the older vers.

if you get a mac, there are a few things you need to know.
1) when you are done with a program, don't just close it, quit it. (apple q) 2) crl alt del is alt apple esc on a mac 3) if you have a normal one click mouse, ctrl+click is right click. you get use to it fast. 4) stuff like ctrl z (undo) is apple z on a mac 5) f9-f12 do cool stuff. try it out. 6) the dock is like your task bar 7) pm me if you get one, and you have any questions.

macs are the computers that almost everyone, except die hard pc fans, wants, but nobody gets.

about shinra's post on the last page... i agree macs arent invincible, but any computer will crash on you and have a bunch of problems if you do the wrong thing. like at high scools, the computers are on all day and kids are going to sites that they shouldnt be goin on. stick any computer in that situation and it will give you a bunch of problems. but just for home use, i think macs are better, than pc.

macs are good for ppl who want a fashion accessory... thats all... if u have an optimally calibrated PC it can do anything and everything u want - macs are way too limited for my liking
