My name's Kiah, pronounced Kie-ah. There are multiple meanings of my name, but the one my parents knew of when they named me is African American, meaning "season's beginning." More popularly however, the Austrailian Aboriginal meaning is "from the beautiful place." There is one other meaning of my name, a Native American meaning, but I forgot what it was.  I used to have issues with attendance too. Apparently on my high school attendance sheets, I was one of like six people who's entire name was listed (by that I mean including middle name). So substitute teachers would call out my middle name, Nicole, and I would miss getting counted for attendance and be marked absent! I got in trouble for that more than once. Also, in Jr. High the car company Kia had just started up... made seventh grade hell for me. |

The meaning of my name sucks. From the Greek name  ?? (Stephanos) meaning "crown". Saint Stephen was an early Christian martyr who was stoned to death, as told in Acts in the New Testament. Another Saint Stephen is the patron saint of Hungary, the first Christian king of that country (10th century). As well, this was the name of kings of England, Serbia, and Poland and ten popes. More recently it is borne by the British physicist Stephen Hawking and the American author Stephen King. |

Stephen was the very first martyr, if I'm not mistaken. Kind of ironic that it means "crown", and then you've got Stephen "King". Hah, pun! Don'tcha just love puns?*runs in circles*
