First off, mattsnipple2000, you did not really offend me. I just tire of flame wars starting over this very argument, no matter which side starts it. I am a Mac lover, but I have no hate the Windows users out there.
I get just as worked up and bothered by "my own people" when they start off on the offensive and bash "PC" users. Don't they realize that a Mac IS a PC? As PC simply means Personal Computer. Note I always refer to the other side of the coin as Windows, not PC, for this very reason.
I don't care who starts it, I get tired of the old fight, so I try to force some reason into the fold from the get go before it gets out of hand. So don't think there is any animosity here, and I don't think anyone should be smiting you over this.
What they should be smiting you for is that abhorrent abuse of the English language. You do know that "u" and "2" are not the correct words (and not even words at all, in fact), and there are such things as punctuation, capitalization, and grammar? It gives me hives every time I read posts like this, and you are not even the worst offender I have seen today.
Ugh.
What is the world coming to? Text messaging and online chat rooms have destroyed the value of the language. I am actually starting to see these bastardizations of the English language show up in print magazine articles and novels. If the OED ever accepts them I might as well just use my one bullet to shoot myself... Well, if I hadn't traded it for a jar of Dharma Peanut Butter.

MY OPINION:
i feel that the show LOST is a great way to escape the everyday hardships tht we go through, it is entertainment, that allows me to spend my time trying to fit the pieces to the puzzle. one of the ways i escape is by going on message boards, and discuss Lost, or any other means of escapism. I feel that the reason Jay does not want threads of this nature (whether it is meant as a joke or not), is that it brings to our attention the very things we want to forget about. I feel that this is a forum, where we can all forget about our political beliefs, and have a good time with people we might otherwise never get to have conversations with. For example, in the commentary for the Lost episode Pilot part 2, Damon Lindeloff mentions the conversation that takes place between Sayid and Hurley. Here are two characters that would never have gotten to know each other, if it werent for the strange sircumstances. this is the same as the boards! put aside your political agenda, and become friends with people you would never even think to have, if it weren't for a common interest.

I used to be a Mac person, then switched over to PC when the kids started school. (They use PC's at school.) Now that they are in middle school, I'm goin' back to a Mac!  |
