“Aloha and Goodbye” Tuesday, January 31st, 2006
We Just wanted to say goodbye to the great Lostcast “The Transmission.”
Ryan and Jen are great people that Jack and I have come to know and become friends with. As much as we are saddend that they couldn’t do the show anymore, as lostcasters ourselves, we understand why.
So Ryan and Jen thank you for the good times and we look forward to the new ones.
Aloha, Jay & Jack
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! (Darth Vader)

I received the email last night informing us that this was happening and I didn't wan to believe it. I listened to the final podcast goodbye today and could not longer live in denial. The Transmission is no more. It is a sad day for podcasting, and especially for Lost fans. The thing that was my first Lost podcast I listened to and led me to seek out others because it was so good.
In fact it was the Transmission and The Signal (a Firefly podcast) proved to me what a fan podcast could be and made me seek out and find others. I truly don't believe I would be listening to most of what I listen to if it wasn't for Transmission. They will be missed.
At least Jay and Jack can now take the top place on my list of favorite Lost Postcasts (and I listen to a lot of them). Sad way to do it, but you did it... but this means that Scott and Steve may be targeting you next to overtake that lucrative spot. Watch your backs.

Yea I was pretty bumed, Us Lostcasters have a sort of brotherhood bond. Especially between the Transmission, MYoKoM with Sas, and Us. So its tough to see them go.

Very sorry to hear that. They set the standard, and listening to a single episode told youthat they were inherently decent people. I wish them well with their future endeavours.
Hopefully they return for guest appearances on future podcasts with Jay and Jack!

Aw, that's too bad. Was any reason given for why? Is it just time problems or something?

It sounded like they felt they couldn't do the show justice. They said it would be tough for them to watch the upcoming episodes because of scheduling.
Reminds me of DiMaggio or Ted Williams, deciding to take themselves out of the game before their performance suffers. Really stand-up of them.
Jay, good of you to send them the kind words. I'm sure they appreciate it. It would be great if they could have a semi-regular bit on another podcast, they're so terrific.

I really give them credit for canceling instead of trying to keep it going when they knew it wasn't going to be the same or same quality show. They will be missed but I do wish that other shows (from podcasts to tv) would end on thier high instead of keeping it going when time, ideas, or enthusiasm is lacking! Good luck with everything else you do Jen and Ryan!!
Jay you are going to be really busy now, 2 shows a week, keeping the network going, uni, the website and this board!!!!!! You must be a glutton for punishment! Keep it up though!! If I wake up to a goodbye podcast from Sexy Jay and Handsome Jack I can guaruntee I will cry and some Korean kiddies will have to suffer thier teacher shouting at them in some language they dont understand!!
