The Da Vinci Code is mystery/conspiracy theory story. The main character is a symbologist and he, along with a mathmetician, work at solving the mystery by analyzing various symbols and numbers that were left as clues in famous paintings and locations. It dives into history, art and symbols. It also gets into religion which causes a lot of controversy surounding the book. It's a very captivating story and, just like joss, I couldn't put it down either. Same for Dan Browns other book, Angels and Demons. Here is the URL to wikipedia about the book: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Davinci_Code

FrodoFreak...glad someone else likes rice cakes too. I like the lightly salted ones too...but only Safeway brand. They're much better than Quaker ones, and cheaper too.
In my opinion, Dan Brown's best books were The DaVinci Code and Angels & Demons. I've also read his other books, Digital Fortress and Deception Point, and they're okay but the first two are the best.

I may see the Movie of the DaVinci code sometime since Tom Hanks is in it. We're (me and my family) are big Tom Hanks fans. But I should read it sometime, it seems interesting, if only I didn't have school...

FrodoFreak, I highly recommend that you try and find time to read it. As with most great stories, the books are usually better than the movies (even if the movie is good).

People who like Dan Brown (like me), might check out Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child's Agent Pendergast series.

That's awesome Annie. I actually just graduated from Med School last May and decided not to apply to residency right away, but rather I just finished my MPH and am completing an MS in Med Informatics. I am in the application process for Radiology residency right now. Eventhough I enjoy seeing the different programs around the nation, interviews are starting to get a little tiring (flying to Michigan tomorrow). I'm sure you know how that is.
So, since I'm taking this time to work on the Master's degrees I have a little more free time than normal. I figure I might as well take advantage of it now before I start my internship, right? :-)
P.S. Sorry to everyone else for the quick tangent here.

You may have seen Relic, a film which was adapted from their first (superior) book. Their work usually involves some archeology and the supernatural. Their franchise character, Agent Pendergast, is a filthy-rich FBI agent with a genius I.Q.
I am also always on the lookout for new authors - we should start a book thread. Or maybe there's one already?

Four of your favorite foods: Any boiled seafood with beer and friends, A messy roastbeef Po Boy (from Rocky and Carlos which was destroyed by Katrina), Chocolate Ice Cream, Bar-B-Qued Shrimp from Copelands
Four places you'd rather be: If I'm with my wife and Daughter (and son coming in May), it doesn't matter.
Four music albums you love: (This is tough) Guns and Roses-Appitite For Destruction, Metallica-And justice for all, U2-Joshua Tree. Def Lepard-Pyromania. (It's a long story but... when I was in 4th grade I brought the Album to school for music class. When school was over, I went to a local convienence store to get an Icee. I had to take my Album with me to make sure no one took it. I got my Icee and headed back to campus. Well on my way back I had to walk past some eighth graders from an all girl public school. Before I could realize it, one of them punched me in the face. I fell on the ground spilling the large strawberry Icee all over myself. She reached down and took my Album. I ran to school crying covered in Icee, told my brother, and 10 minutes later I had my Pyromania Album back. Which I had in a place of honor in my old room until katrina hit.) So yes, Def Lepard- Pyromania is an Album I love because I got punched in the face for it.
Four people you'd like to meet: my dad, grand parents etc.
