I don't really like iPod stuff..err bad experiences, but I'd go with the Video. The Nano has some issues with it (technical malfunctions) and it easy breaks. My friend's nano broke in half when she pulled it out of a pocket =P.

Ya know - all these "pods" are adding to the "Anti-Socialization" of the world - you have a knuckleheads walking around with "ear buds" in either listening or watching something - and then they wonder why they have no friends - I know this is a "Scandalous" thought as I listen to podcasts - but I listen on my PC - either at home where I am not interacting with anyone - or at work and I take the headphones off if I am needed in some way. Sorry - just a rant

on the original topic (even though you've already made up your mind it seems)
get the video if you have, or want, a lot of songs (like 10,000), and want to watch video podcasts on there, and maybe some tv shows.
Get the nano if you want to spend less money, and don't have an insane amount of music that you need to listen to.
If you don't mind paying the difference i'd definitely go for the video, but i'm betting the nano is all you really need.
On the new topic, ear buds are great, when they're comfortable. I dunno about being anti-social, i certainly don't talk to people on the street when i have my head phones on, but then occasionally people talk to me, and i wouldn't be talking to random people anyway.

how the hell can u watch ur video in school when the thing is huge?! I dont understand the question, when what is so huge, the ipod? that thing is the opposite of huge. and the mp4s off of itunes are not big at all, I have all of season 2 on there, as well as the enitre first season of stella (the funniest show ever made) and the 1st season of wondershowzen. plus videos I make, 2 video podcasts, and about 3000 songs. I dont know what I would do without my ipod video.

i think you really should get the video. it makes a HUGE difference about having videos on your ipod or not. nanos actually annoy me because they are so small. even though they are ok, if you really want to get your moneys worth about an ipod get the video 30gig. its is the most reasonable of the five different ones selling now. when i first got an ipod it was the nan 2gig. it was given to me and i paid a hundred bucks from my money to upgrade it to a video. i did it because a 30 gig is 15 times the capacity and it has the ability to hold videos so its much more worth it.

Vid for sure if you have the money! There is so much more space on it, and you can watch Jay and Jack's vidcasts anywhere! It does consume a lot of battery power to watch videos and the vid ones are bigger, but they are just so much cooler, and a nano is almost like an mp3 player isn't it, just with a screen... The nano would be ok, but the vid one is definitely better, I've got the 30gb one myself and I am in love with it ^_^ I also watch music vids and the news and stuff, and there is nothing more technological and science fiction-feeling than watching a news broadcast on a tiny screen while riding the bus
