Kind of some interesting results here - we have a tie for the win - a 3 time winner - a 2 time winner and a newbie - and the "Battle of The Her and Figgy" will go on for 1 more week:

Tune in next week and The Her will explain that quaint British Tradition of "Boxing Day".
I personally think it comes from a tradition from the 1700's when 2 gentlemen suitors bought a young lady they have both been pursuing a Christmas gift and they find out about it. Next day, it's to the ring for "Boxing Day" between the 2 suitors - and everyone was given off to go and watch.
Or it's the day that all of the boxes from the Christmas gifts are thrown away and the British being typical Europeans - need a day off to do that.Hmm nice guess but boxing day is boxing day because its the day all the money collected form the churches at xmas is taken from the boxes and put towards village needs or church funds or whatever. But personally I think its becaue we have such a huge build up to Christmas, starting when we first go back to school in September, that when its all over, we need to make the day after sort of special so it dosnt immediatly drop from high to low! I couldnt believe it actually when I read this post, you guys dont have boxing day!! Well from now on the 26th December is boxing day, make a note of it! |

Well guys and girls - we have made it to week 17 - the last week of the season and I for 1 - had fun. I know this is Christmas Week and all and we'll all be running around doing lots of silly things - but this is important - so put away the egg nog and get to pickin' ;D.
