This week is Stardust.
I had the pleasure of watching this on the Wednesday before it came out, and by pleasure I mean I was paid to watch it. The movie is very slow, with very awful pacing. The acting isn't all that great (Claire Daines, honey, do us all a favor and get some acting lessons), with the exception of Michelle Phieffer, who plays one of the evil witch sisters. Now, granted, I never read the book or the graphic novel, but it felt so much like Eragon to me (that isn't a good thing, in case some of you didn't hear my tiranical rant when that movie came out) in terms of it felt like there was a lot of material missing from the book. The special effects are ok, but they look like it took a lot of money to make them, with no quality. While it is not the worst 2 hours you could waste (its still a hell of a lot better than Bug or Eragon), it certainly isn't worth paying to see. Thank God I got paid to see it.
