So, thoughts on the book and its events? I'm glad Jo is going to publish an encyclopedia with all the characters and what happened to them. What a nod to the fans who have stayed with the series!

pretty great end to such an epic that has spanned much of my own childhood. i was honestly depressed for a few days afterward b/c i realized i now no longer had another to look forward to.
though hearing about that encyclopedia was pretty cool and uplifting.
and to all those who complain about the epilogue being too "fairy-tale" and "feel good", get over it. i think she wrote a fitting capstone that provided both a happy ending and closure. honestly, did you really expect some kind of cliff hanger or something? it's kinda like the end of return of the jedi; eveything turned out okay, evil was vanquished. yea, it's not very realistic, but it IS a story about wizards and magic. it seems to me that those who are upset with the epilogue are probably just more upset with the series being over than with "And all was well." at least that's how i reasoned my own immediate reactions.

Did you read the interview with her on MSNBC...where she gives more detail regarding the epilogue? Here's the link if anyone hasn't read it...http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19959323/
I liked the epilogue too, we fans (as much as Harry) earned our happy ending!

I loved the Battle of Hogwarts...Trelawney lobbing the crystal balls, McGonagall's charging desks and Kreacher leading the kitchen implement wielding house elves...great imagry! I hope they keep that scene in the movie in all its wonderful detail.

I was happy with the ending including the epilogue. I even liked the cheesier stuff about naming the kids and Draco giving him a nod. But I have to say that one of my favorite scene was Neville pulled out the sword and in slow motion chopped off the head of the snake, oh and where Harry came back to life, and and well theres too much to type.
