I wanted to make a thread to get Jay and Jack to watch Arrested Development after hearing their last RambleCast and how they seemed so unmotivated to watch it, if enough of us advocate it, they'll just have to watch it....won't they? Thanks for signing it even though you haven't seen it! If you want a small taste of it I'm pretty sure I've watched the first episode of it on YouTube - mind you it's in 3 parts - but if you don't want to go through the process of downloading or renting you should try it.
It's basically about a dysfunctional family who goes from riches to rags. You HAVE to watch them in order because they build upon jokes and so if you jump into it in the middle you won't get half of them. There's certain phrases or themes that you'll hear a lot and it's slightly subtle humour, but once you catch on it's not so subtle. Some parts are kinda random, like flashback series, but it's a lot of fun. There's tons of guest stars such as Henry Winkler, Liza Minelli, Zach Braff, Charlize Theron, Scott Biao, Ben Stiller, Julie Louis-Dreyfus, Amy Peohler, etc etc. There's only 2 1/2 seasons so you don't have to get to involved to know it all.
This Christmas I'm burning the seasons and making my friends and family watch them, so I'm strongly advocating the episodes.

One of my roommates loves the show, and it's something that I've always wanted to watch, but just never really made it out to rent or buy it. It's definately at the top of my list though, I'll probably get to it during my winter break!

YES! What a great idea! I'm a huge fan of Arrested Development (it's on one of my userbars too). This is one of my favorite comedy shows of all time. Jay and Jack should DEFINITELY check it out, as well as everyone else.

Oh man it was one of the funniest most unappreciated shows. I loved it, and was very sad that they could not save it. You guys should watch it. It has real humor.

AD was one of the funniest and groundbreaking shows on tv..which HAD TO BE WHY IT WAS CANCELLED! People seem to shy away from new & different. I'm sorry, TV execs seem to shy away and not give these types of shows a chance. It's sad really.
