I just saw the movie 'Carrie' the other day. It was a free OnDemand (Comcast Cable <-- I don't know if that if New England or national) HD Movie so I was like "You know what? It was mentioned in LOST, so obviously it can't be that bad..." HOLY CRAP It was CRAZYY! Verry freaky and weird though. It was exactly like my reaction to 'The Shining', another Stephen King novel turned movie. So this thread is for discussion.
Oh, and one more thing... 500TH POST!!!!!!!!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only good Stephen King book turned into a movie. If you have read the Shining, the movie is so overly crap.

Yeah, Comcast is national; got it here in CA. That's pretty interesting! I'll have to check it out this weekend.

I think Juliet can relate to the Carrie character. I could imagine her being really upset and going on a rampage. One core theme of the book is fury being the fuel to Carries PSi-ability. And Carrie is unable to get in touch with her social environment by "common means", a bit of a Kasper Hauser reference (the true story of a boy being raised in full isolation) And just along the alley of Dharmas sociological studies. regarding film/book adaption I think pet semetary is a bit inaccurate (like zombie cage asking his mom to "phuk" him was left out of the movie, dunno why but overall the most Kingish film of all adaptions Misery was really good though too oLO
