Thats a good question, and I think that we should at least get to pick our own books so we dont get stuck reading the crap books they put on their lists.

I "read" audio books, much easier when you have A.D.D. like me! That's why I work with numbers for a living, and not so much with words

When I was in high school, sometimes we go to choose what books we read over the summer. I always liked those better strangely enough. I choose classics like "Pride and Prejudice", "Huckleberry Finn", and "The Crucible" which I really enjoyed. The one that I inflicted upon myself that I hated was "A Clockwork Orange" Too graphic for me!

I hate that they pick the most boring books for you to read over the summer, like they can't pick one that you will enjoy becasue that would be the end of the world if they did.

I havent read Pride and Prejudice, but Huck Finn and the Crucible are good. Actually I was in a play of the Crucible too. Pride and Prejudice is great! But try telling that to any boy... But I fully recommend it. Right now I'm reading "Specimen Days" by Michael Cunningham, not sure if I can recommend that quite yet.
