off the top of my head, Kate may end up being known forever for Titanic, even though her role in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was much better, but I can't think of anything Nicole has been in that will forever etch her in time. Yeah I can name movies that she's been in, but nothing that will ever be classic... anyway, it was just a tangent, the thread is Favorite of all time, not greatest. I was only suggesting that people broaden their range.... FYI, here is my movie collection online (thanks to DVDprofiler - any serious movie collector needs this program, and there is a free version available)

I actually remember the 60's black and white TV drive-in movies 25 cent a gallon gas 7 cent popsicles and penny candy
doesnt mean my favorite actress has to come from back then

no offense, but while these may be YOUR favorite, known of them will ever be known, or even close to being known as, the greatest of all time. I think it would be interesting to see your ages along with your choice. I think it might reveal some trends...younger person = younger actress... which leads me to my point, I'm 23 and picked someone who was in movies mostly in the 60's....you need to branch out. Today's actresses suck and the movies are terrible. I am 18 and Anna Karina started working in the 60's and those are the movies that made her my favorite, so yeah.

I absolutely love Shirley Temple, she's an icon for me of simpler times- an icon from my childhood. Just seeing things she's in makes me smile. For that reason, she's my favorite. I also love Audrey Hepburn, she's a perfect image of grace and beauty. Every gesture she makes has so much poise to it, impeccable in every way. I love Breakfast at Tiffany's, but more than that I love Funny Face. Of course, I do live in this century, and there are great actresses now as well... Gena Davis is awesome, she reminds me in some ways of Audrey Hepburn, she is graceful and timeless. I loved her in a League of Their Own. She's good in Commander in Chief as well... Kate Winslet in Eternal Sunshine was brilliant, Finding Neverland was ok, I was a geek and saw Titanic 7 times in the theater. But, who is really my favorite of all? Depends on my mood... Right now, I'm feeling nostalgic, so Shirley Temple. Oh... and if Musicals count Idina Menzel from Rent, she also was in the original cast of Wicked which I completely missed her in... she's awesome.

I think Meryl Streep IS the best actress ever! She plays every role to perfection.

He should have spent more time on LOST and less on MI3. He handed it over to DL and CC after the sixth episode of the first Season! Now he's off in Star Trek LaLa Land! I think he needs to get his priorities straight! No that Star Trek is bad...
