Hmm...so your saying Snape is good? Perhaps...and perhaps not. You sound like Damon when you say JKR meant to kill Dumbledore. However, I am not sure if Sirius is coming back....I think there is more to that mirror he has.
I don't think Dumbledore would plead for his life and if was killed because of Snapes 'evilness', that makes it all the more worse. Or are you saying Dumbledore was urging Snape to kill him, when he had the chance? Was that part of their plan? And would his death mean that Harry is supposed to defeat Voldy on his own. He left him critically disadvantaged. I don't know how that is supposed to imply Snape is good.

I was not trying to imply Snape was good or bad. Yes I believe Dumbledore was telling Snape to do it when he said that. Snape told Dumbledore about the plot to kill him, which was why Dumbledore never really was interested when Harry told him about Draco. So Dumbledore told Snape that if there ever was a time when his cover as a double-agent was in danger that he should kill him.
I don't think Dumbledore ever planned on helping in the final battle, alive or not. He knew it was harry's battle and would let him deal with it.

Wow! He must have taken a HUGE leap of faith to think Harry could do it alone. Its just that I don't know how he's going to face this alone. Will he get help? From who? What if Dumbledore didn't even believe in the prophecy to begin with? The Pottercast crew made a good point that even if people hear it, whatever you do to try to prevent is useless. Its destined to happen. So, could that be a red herring? Whether Dumbledore lived or died or even helped him, Harry might still have the advantage of the prophesy.

Hey redsox! Well Black was indeed not hit with Avada Kedavra but he fell through the veil. Which is still a mystery but I think it is a door to the afterlife. And falling in there means you die. So he is not coming back but the mirror will! R.A.B. connection maybe?
Yea the Final Battle is something that I find hard to theorize about. So I don't! But I think Dumbledore believed in the prophecy. The Mugglecast people I believe talked about no matter what you do it will happen (remember the baby Hitler story lol) and I agree with that. But Dumbledore talked about how Voldemort and Harry didn't have to make the prophecy come true and just walk away. But since this is not an option I am not worried about it.

Not only is that NOT an option it would be rather boring to read! I don't like to thoerize much about anything...even Lost, but what's this about Hitler's baby? Nevermind...don't wanna go off topic, but we had an interesting discussion about Hitler (not baby Hitler, mind you) with my history professor.
What if Voldemort can't die? I think it would be a great commentary for Jo to add given the political climate we have now. I really like how she illustrated the battle with Voldemort and Dumbledore in the Ministry, and the fountain statues in ruin...very reflective to the situation in the Wizard-world. But back in the real world, Voldy is a symbol of evilness, something that will exist no matter what. I don't mean to sound pessimestic, but everytime one militant is defeated their is another bound to be another to pick up that ideology and continue fighting. Could that be her own statement on terrorism? I think that would be cool! There's so many underlying themes in her books!
Was that off topic, sorry...I'm a nerd!

Redsox- We are positive he is dead and he and Snape did not have a mission together.
Matt- The battle in the Ministry is one of my favorite scenes in the series! They better not screw it up in the movie! Yea there will always be evil. Like Grindelwald in 1945 now there is Voldemort. But even though it comes back you still have to stop it.
It's not hitler's baby its hitler as a baby. Mugglecast was talking about how no matter what the prophecy was going to happen. Ben used a story that he saw on t.v. Where this woman went back in time and killed baby hitler and she killed the baby that would of been hitler. But hitler's mom panicked thinking that she would be arrested for his murder stole another baby and that baby turned out to be hitler, not the one killed. See how this is related?

Ohh Lupen why didn't you say so. I don't remember them having a mission together. Lupin went to spy on the werewolves while Sirius was kept in Grimmuald Place. I don't know, when did you think the mission happened?
