So how's everybody doing? It's been a little crazy over here. Over the span of three days I had a health scare and an out of state job interview. Neither turned out to be what they seemed - and all for the better. Turns out I dodged a potentially bad diagnosis (big ;D) and the job looked good on paper, but was something else in reality. Thankfully I have some great landlords (aka my parents) and I have enough dark chocolate to last me a while or at least until something else comes up.
So, Jana - are you getting any more sleep or are the dogs still keeping you up? Jlyn, how's work? Have things stabilized at all?

It's ok around here. Working 24 hours a week sucks. And I hate having to do anything with the unemployment office. They are the biggest pain in the butts to try to talk to.

It's ok around here. Working 24 hours a week sucks. And I hate having to do anything with the unemployment office. They are the biggest pain in the butts to try to talk to. Yikes, but part-time must be better than nothing. So do you have to go to a physical office or is everything online for you guys? There are plusses and minuses for both (like with an office you get real people instead of recordings, but online you can keep a little more dignity - I think anyway). Good luck with that. Thanks Bev - and it's the best kind of health food ;D. Oh, and I was talking to my hairdresser and she said it best: instead of interviewing with the 'great and powerful OZ' I got the 'great and powerful @ss' (the job was in Kansas) |

I get to do all of the unemployment stuff on line or over the phone, but it's such a pain in the butt. I've tried about 3 times to call the office where I can ask questions, and they say, "All of our operators are busy with other customers, please call again." So I hang up and call again and get hung up on again. I just want to ask a question. Hire more people....I'm a customer that wants to talk to some. ARGH

I am SO sorry I have been AWOL for so long. I went on holiday...WITHOUT INTERNET! *gasp* I will uphold this thread now. I will keep it alive. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes guys I was ill on my birthday this year though, haha. Some sort of fluey thing. Gee whizz I'm boring. ANYHOO - my GCSE results come through on Thursday, so I'm pretty much a nervous wreck right now. Peace. love you guys. x |
