Good afternoon. Jay & I went to bed so early last night that I've been up and super-awake since 7:30am lol. I've productively used this energy to clean, apply for jobs, throw things that have accumulated over the last month out, have maintenance come fix a leak and work on this week's NuNews that will hopefully not suck. Aaaaand it's only noon. I rock. Off for a loooong ass run or walk or something since the monsoon stopped and it's sunny outside.
P.S. I let my friend Cassidy sucker me into going to Chapel Hill to watch that stupid UNC Final 4 crap at some sports bar there. It starts at 10pm but they're getting there at 5pm. Mistake? Fact: I don't care about basketball at all and I have no job so I'm trying to not spend a lot of money. Fact: Cassidy lives in NY now & she's only visiting NC til tomorrow. Fact: I'll be back home next weekend for Easter. Discuss.

Ooh, I so wish I had a DVR right now. I was wondering when the Lost season finale will be, since I am going to a seminar in the middle of May and found out it is supposed to be on that same day. This is gonna be interesting. The seminar is a 2.5 hour drive from home and usually ends right around rush hour...
I think I'll be cutting it close. Better set that VCR.

Arghhh. Moving sucks. And I have only just been doing research. Many options, but don't know what would be best. Plus packing is so overwhelming when you have 20 years of stuff to go through and not so abundant free time to do so. Sorry to be so whiny, just one of those days.

Jana, have you looked in to Pods? www.pods.com I just saw a commercial for them. You get the big box, you pack it up, and than they will move it across country for you, and than you can unpack when you are ready. Or they will put the box into storage until you are ready. I don't know much about it, I just saw the commercial for them. So I thought I would suggest it. Besides with you going all the way across country, you might just want to have a professional move your stuff. With the mountains, desert, and mountains it might be less stressful if you just let someone else do the driving. Good luck.

I just bought Mad Men season 1 the other day, and i love it!
Its so interesting from someone who never really experienced the sixties other than listening to music from those time periods.
Anyone else watch this? I heard about last year at the emmys when it won best drama.

I wish I could do pods but because of where I live we'd have to store them 2-3 blocks away

No, I live in a large condo development so the only street parking is 2 blocks away. Too far to have to carry everything down. Gonna rent a truck and pack it and then park it on the street

So I ended up going to Chapel Hill for the UNC/Michigan State basketball game and when I was told there'd be riots and bonfires in the streets, they weren't kidding. I was on Franklin Street from about 5pm until 12:30a: www.newsobserver.com/news/story/1475157.html - that's where I was Then of course, I got completely lost from my group in that crowd, thought I'd have to walk 1.5 miles to where my car was, found 2 people from my group who gave me a ride back to my car. Then I got totally lost trying to find my way back to the 40 from Carrboro, NC and it took a full hour to get home when it took 25 minutes to get there, with traffic. Oh yeah and my phone battery lasts for about 12 hours nowadays and since I charged it over night til this morning, it was dead before the game started at 9:30pm. I have weird luck.

Hey Nick - good to see you around here. Just booked a rental truck. My cousin said she can drive it, so she'll fly out here and we'll do the road trip thing.
