Thanks I decided that no matter WHAT they tell us tomorrow, he is going to live for a little while longer because he's a ridiculously happy dog and he's not in any pain at all and his spirit will without a doubt outlive whatever his physical condition is. AND I told him when they had us say goodbye this morning that his grandma and grandpa and sister (Christie) and aunt and uncle were all coming to see him on Sunday for my birthday so he better be well by then or else! After 10 years, he knows everyone's names and what our tone of voices mean (going in the car, people coming to visit, go take a dump, go sit down, etc.). I don't care what happens tomorrow. My little puppy is going to be around.

Loving the rain, despite the flooded streets that makes for difficult driving in a very small car.
Sending all positive thoughts for Strider's recovery.

He responded to the oxygen and is breathing okay now. All fluid is out of his lungs. We're picking him up at 4pm, pending he doesn't have any complications while they monitor his "room air" breathing. We won't know if the heart meds work in the long term but he's going to have to have treatments for the next 2-3 months to see if we can buy him more time (we are crazy obsessed with our dog as you can see). I'm just so glad we have time now to "prepare" since we all freaked out Wed night & yesterday because we thought we were taking him to the vet for a cold, not heart failure and we were just so unprepared. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. Just gotta keep praying that there's no sudden anything!

I hope everything goes all right for Strider. Anyone that says dogs are just animals, are jerks. They are a part of our families, and we love them so. Because they love us unconditionally. (That's why I like dogs better than cats.) Our dog is 13 and you can tell she has slowed down, but there are some days also that she is like a puppy again. Especially during the winter, she loves snow. I love her so much. She is great.
