it is a nice thing to have so some people can get an idea of your reputation Uh, these days it has about 33% to do with reputation. Most everything else comes from free karma threads where people can camp out for days if they so choose or random reasons like: "I love the same ice cream as ____ so exalt" or "Exalt ____ because we have three of the same letters in our names" Its definately ok to give karma. But we've gone far from the days when it was a reward to get it. But its still just a number after all. You shouldn't judge a person by a number |

Well I guess if its bugging you alot, you can always ask Jay to look up who it is. Well honestly, I hope he wouldn't. That would totally go against the system of karma. Not talking about misusing admin rights and abusing data privacy for a game! |

I agree that karma means nothing... however a karma attack means something. I think anyway, since it seems it can be a sign of someone being upset with you. But jeez, if you are upset with someone THAT MUCH, send them a PM and try to work out the issue. Coming to an agreement is far more constructive than anonymously shredding their ego. If I'm pleased with something some one said... one exalt. If I'm upset... one smite. No reason to go past that, because as useless as karma is, people do notice it, which gives it some arbitrary meaning. Yeah. I'm sad that the person butchering my karma hasn't tried working anything out yet. Well, I guess they just enjoy being jerks.  pogs, I am so sorry that someone is giving you a hard time, you don't deserve it at all  |

Man, Dez is right. We've gone far from rewards, but then again, I can't exactly say it's wrong to exalt for no reason.
And as for talking to Jay...you might be taking this a little too seriously.
