I think I'm being smited because I don't like Sayid.  That's not a good reason to be smited at all, you have a right to like or dislike anyone you want, you never should be smited for an opinion. then by the same logic should you not be exalted for one? |

That's not a good reason to be smited at all, you have a right to like or dislike anyone you want, you never should be smited for an opinion. then by the same logic should you not be exalted for one? i can agree with bev in that smiting is mean, but it can be necessary, as long as the smiter states to the smitee why they are smiting them, so they can try and improve. you can pretty much be smote for anything. some smart person once said something along the lines of "freedom is a two way street," so if you want to keep your ability to exalt whenever you want (and i know i do) others should also be able to smite you whenever they want. |

The Webster's Definition of Karma is: The total effect of a person's action's and conduct during the successive phases of his existance. To Smite or to Smote: To inflict a heavy blow on. to kill by or as if by blows. That's the reason's that I don't feel that an opinion is a valid reason to smite someone. As long as it's not something personal and mean against a person, then I believe that would be bad conduct and they then would deserve to be smited, and no, I don't think you should get Karma for a good opinon either. It's just an opinion. If they had said that I don't like Sayid because Steve likes him, then I believe that would deserve a smote, because then it becomes personal. You of course have the right to do as you want with the Karma and the Smiting, I just think that some people do it to be mean and really don't have a valid reason to do it, and I just don't think that's the right way to use it. That's just my opinion.  |
