hahahahaha oh my god this is probably the worst thread ever! everyones crackin on emo kids and how they cut themsleves!?
I'm no emo kid but wow, this is the most insensitive thread I have read on this forum. even though I agree with the thread its still pretty mean, I am sure theres an emo kid or 2 on this forum, and cause of this thread (I know I am being hypocrytical here) they might cry and cut themselves

Of the top 25 played songs on my ipod (out of 1097), 13 of them are emo. My favorite bands are Dashboard Confessional and Dasphne Loves Derby and The Used. So i guess I'm an emo kid. Every1 says I'm the happiest emo kid in school, w/e that means. But im not in to the whole wearing black thing, i prefer funny colors like orange :-)

I myself am more of a scene/indie kid I like some of the scene music out there
(like the rapture, the faint, LCD Soundsystem, and Tv On The Radio) but I really like the indie music
(clap your hands say yeah, neutral milk hotel, gingerbread patriots, and the Decemberists)
used to be into the emo, not so much now, even though I still like to wear zip-up hoodies and straight legged jeans

they are so freakin theatrical like every song (or most) is very epic, like "the mariners revenge"
and every song tells a story i like em

also shanty for the arethusa I like, and The Chimbley Sweep, The Soldiering Life, Red Right Ankle, theres others but try any of those out before you move on to more

what is up with the decemberists? every1 says I'd love them, but I'm refusing to listen cuz i hate w/e every1 says I'll love I admit, I love them too. I got their new record, The Crane Wife, which is a lot different from their last record Picaresque, which was pure brilliance. Definately one of the best indie bands out there. The singer sounds a lot like Gibbard from DCFC who I think are a bit overrated, IMO. I prefer The Decemberists over them mostly because their sound is so unusual, very unique. They actually calloborated with Chris Walla on their new one too. |
