Looks like there is something going on in ShriLanka (sp?) - also the custom ship for Mittelwerk is a hospital ship with special sections for quarentines. Hmmm...

it's the sickness man. I've always thought it was real...but for some reason, I don't thing they're heading for the Island. I think they're heading for a Dharma site B somewhere in the same area. |

theory time:
Ok, we know Mittelwerk is in a tizzy to get the boat done and go off somewhere
We also know that it has capacity for transporting deseased people in quarentine
We saw a note that said that they would have to go back to the original site and that none of the other sites for the experiment were adequate.
So, what if they are doing biological experiments - possibly genetic - the Losties Island has certain healing properties tied to it's unusual magnetic fields. This allowed Hanso to conduct some pretty cutting edge experiment without having the test subject die off. Before they could complete the experiments, DHARMA revolted and somehow took the island offline and hid it. Mittelwerk continued to pursue the experiments in the other HF facilities world-wide, but the experiments are just not working. The subjects are dying off and there is a very dangerous sickness loose. The boat is for two things. To go and clean up the mess in Shri-lanka and transport surviving test subjects to the Lost Island where Mittlewerk hopes to take over the current DHARMA operation. He doesn't know where the island is, perhaps Hanso didn't trust him with that information, so he is digging around for the Black rock records to try and track the location down.

here's the video transcript ~ Rachel: I'm in Hugh and Darla's flat. Looks like our turncoat IT guy was right. Mittelwerk didn't know about this place.
Rachel begins looking through the place. She finds a note on a bedside table.
R: (reading the note aloud) Heading to the Racket Club, didn't want to wake you. Can you be ready by 3? I'll swing by and pick you up. Hugh.
She continues to look through the house. She finds a row of tapes on a bookshelf.
R: If I was Darla, I'd hide it...behind a video of Gidget.
The tape fastforewards and a light is turned on. Rachel has an envelope.
R: Ok guys, here goes. (opens envelope) An ID...with my face on it, for Healthway Alliance. A plane ticket. Sri Lanka? THAT was the island? All those injections for Sri Lanka. What the hell?
Rachel plays a tape. Darla is on the tape.
Darle: Rachel, um, I guess I feel a bit ashamed coming to you like this. But please understand why I had my friend deliever this package to you in the park. By the time you're watching this, I'll be...urgh, see, that's the reason. The end of that sentence is always dead and god knows I don't want to be that cliche. By the time you watch this, I'll have left the bloody country, I'll have left him, I'll have run. I made you an ID pass. Use it. Mittelwerk's about to do something awful Rachel. I'm not quite sure what, but I know you. You'll find out. Just one last bit: um, if Hugh's still...you know, around...Look, I know how you feel about these people and about us, but I love him Rachel. There's still a good man in there. He got caught up, but he's been helping me. Sri Lanka was the last straw for him too, and believe it or not but, he's been protecting you. Mittelwerk's convinced (?), at least for now, he doesn't want a martyr on his hands. But that doesn't mean he won't change his mind. Especially after you uncover what's happening in Sri Lanka. So, be safe love. And get the bastards for me will you? Once this is all said and done we'll both have martinis in Monte Carlo. You know, I never met the big man, Hanso, but something tells me he'd be proud.
The tape cuts out. Rachel looks through the contents of the envelope.
R: "Spider Protocol, Trial J" And this is the ship. Paik Heavy Industries, The Hanso Foundation: The Helgus Antonius. Its - it's a hospital ship. Oh god. Why are all the wards labeled "quarantine?"

Notice this? stophanso.rachelblake.com/img/package/3.jpg There's two airplane symbols on right hand side on Trincomalee and Batticaloa, dunno anything about it but it might be important...or not. By the way, do you guys think that Hugh/Darla's death was faked? Or were they really killed... Wish we had gotten a better look at Spider Protocol packet. JLSK- That's a pretty good idea and it makes lots of sense. Especially the thing about Mittelwork digging up info on The Black Rock, the DHARMA Revolt |

Heh - I was looking at nocturnal's site and was wondering - how the hell did he get such good screen caps from the movie. Then I went back to rachel blake's blog and she's updated the entry with a bunch of very high resolution images.
