Yes - first it says: "Notice the grainy far away picture?" Then: "It doesn't match anyone else?" while highlighting the date... Weird!

Well, not sure if this is helpful, but here is a rough animated gif of the whole thing - didn't get the morse at the end though: JLSK

So why are some of the locations blanked out afterwards?

Ok, so using some high tech methods (ie. microphone against speaker) I got a copy of the morse code and slowed it down to like .25 speed.
Just use the standard PC sound recorder if you wanna try. I definetly hear "SAFE G". There is a definet break after "safe" also it is no 9. Unles my alphabet is innacurate there is no way it could be confused for 9 ( - - - - ) G is ( - - .) there's not even enough characters for it to be 9.
The one place that there is some wiggle room is S ( . . . ) When you slow it down there is a slight pause between the first 2 and the last one. (. . / . ) This would translate out to be "IEAFE G". Plug that into an anagram server and you get nothing;
agee if age fie age fe i
Anybody else have thoughts on the morse code?? Cause I can't figure it out. Could Safe G be a hint towards another cyper? G is safe, take it out leave it in, I dunno code craking is not my thing but if this spurs on anyone who does know what they're doing let me know!!

I havent' had a chance to hear the morse code (I'm at work and don't have speakers on this computer) so I am taking all your words on the morese code thing. SAFEG also produces nothing when put through the anagram server or a ROT13 translator. So I don't know what's up with that.
I'm wondering if there is something to the order of the cities visited, the cities themselves, or the time interval between visits? It seems kinda overkill to go to the trouble of drawing out a map of visits for no real reason. If the only point was that he hasn't been seen in public since 2002, she could have just told us that, referencing the 2003 date on the photo.
Hmm.

I'm still waiting for someone to dig this picture up from the website. (hacked out of the website code by megalobrainiac) I tried, but to no avail. that Hanso dude is either this fella, or Henry Gale imo.

I can see the similarity between that photo and the man in the grainy Hanso photo.
That may also be the missing man from the Board of Directors, Liddy.

yup, cool info. but they seem to also come to the conclusion of safe g. kinda.
"Conclusion? SAFER makes more sense, the evidence says SAFE G. "

this is so cool. I'm more worried about the map and the dates. and then at the end she says ALVAR HANSO WAS NEVER THERE. did he ever exist?? was he made to put a face to this project? If he has disappeared , why? If he is hidding , why? surly the map has more meaning. i shall look into it

The ALVAR HANSO WAS NEVER THERE phrase at the end of the new stuff reminded me of 1984. Big Brother was this face associated with the government. Everybody loved and respected him, but there was really never any evidence this person actually existed. Of course, such thinking would be known as thoughtcrime and would get you in big trouble, so everyone just continued believing in Big Brother without question.

I'm pretty sure that if someone would put the Lost fans to solve a difficult murder case or other bad-ass crime - we would collectivly do it in a matter of hours. Why not get to work solving the JFK murder mystery? Dang - people here are efficient!

The sound visually looks like this: You can listen to the sound here: lost.karlqvist.nu/flash_files/bntgff/Sound/morse.mp3It's clearly visible that the morse code is: ··· ·– ··–· · ––· This would prove that it in translates into SAFE G, not SAFE R, but what does that mean? Playing around with decoding and reversing the word SAFEG we get these options: Reverse and ROT-4 decoding: KIJEW (which is the German and Polish spellings of the Ukrainian captial Kiev/Kyiv) ROT-8 decoding: ANIMO (don't know if this is a word, but it sounds good Reverse and ROT-8 decoding: OMNIA (One of the countries around the Circle Sea in Discworld - the world made up by Terry Pratchett) Anyway - none of this is correct I guess - just coincidences or whatever...
