A meek grounds keeper always thought he was destined for something more.. he got a low level job with a company that claimed to be doing great things and would change the world.. he was allowed to bring his son along to live with him at this new career local and told his boy to rise up and be something more.. Roger drove his VW full of beer delivering it to the scientists that run this place.. as he drove he thought about the last words he told his son Ben.. be something more... And that young boy went on to save spring break, and was king of the prom. Seriously tho, Roger Linus has to be Ben's dad.. this looks like it is going to be pretty cool.. I really think the above is close to true.. Ben was not born on the island.. he was brought there as a young boy with his father Roger. Enjoy.

Where did you get that synopsis?
Also, I think Ben is lying as well.

Yeah - the title there may be a bit spoilerish in and of itself sincei it is heavily based on the cast list from next week calling him Roger Linus -
Not sure how to rectify Ben's claim as being born on the island with this though. Either he is lying or he is adopted off the island by Roger.

Well, here's this snap from the trailer for next week: Right-click and choose "View Image". Dunno why it isn't just displaying...

I could still swear Ben told Jack that he had lived on the island "all his life" as opposed to being "born on the island". Both statements could have multiple meanings.

He told Jack he lived on the island all his life, but then told Locke that he was born on the island. I think he is lying to Locke, not Jack.

yeah - I have mixed thoughts about this. we had a hint from D&C in one of their podcasts that we might not want to believe Ben when he says he was born on the island. Which makes me think think that he truely may have been brought to the island. I'm not happy about it, because him being born on the island really added some interesting dimensions to the plot (not to mention being central to a few of my theories...). JLSK

not literally
but spiritually

He wasn't born on the island. He was brought there because his dad, Roger Workman, was hired by the DeGroots to help them out in building the hatches, creating roads, etc, and he was able to bring his son, Ben, along with him.

It's plausible that all of Ben's recollectable life was spent on the island...so maybe he just figures he was born there. Suppose we'll find out next week!
