Well, the only race he really laid claim to were hobbits. I believe while he was grading papers he just wrote down "in a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit" on impulse, and the rest is history.
But I know several people who didn't like the movies or the books. And many more who haven't ever seen the movies claim the books make their eyes droop. I suppose it's a matter of opinion.

Right! I forgot about Orcs! That's shameful! And I love all the Orc scenes so much, too...
EDIT: And Ents and Uruks! What is wrong with me. I suppose I was only thinking of the free peoples when I was talking about hobbits.

Hey Guys,
I'm Chris, 16, a military brat. Me and my family are currently stationed in Japan and we get lost through a government service called AFN (American Forces Network). Anyways, I heard about the official lost podcast and when searching for that on itunes I came across Jay and Jack's, which is officially my favorite lost podcast. Just thought I'd come introduce myself and whatnot.
