How about these guys, eh?
I certainly didn't make it for the whole sheebang....a little here and there, Sat. afternoon & pm, some in the dark when I'm normally sleeping Sun am, some Sun morning and caught all of the crazy end.
All I really have to say is MAJOR CONGRATULATIONS to Jay and Jack, Colleen and Jana, and everyone else who was involved in one way or another.
Together, they inspired us all to do something wonderful, raised a lot of dough for a great cause, and had a pretty good time doing it. Who'd have thought this little indie podcast would be involved in something like that? Bet the boys didn't predict that when they began Jay and Jack's Lost Podcast, even in the most crackpot-iest corner of Jack's mind!
Thanks for giving us the opportunity! Loved it...and curses to talkshoe!!!

I've listened to the first hour and a half of the six hour "preview". Wow, a six hour preview. That's like a 10 course snack. Kudos to Jay and Jack and to Jorge for putting up with the cutting edge technology. When you are bouncing your grandkids on your knee, you'll be able to tell them about the bad old days when something as simple as broadcasting a live 25 hour show from multiple locations halfway around the world from each other was considered difficult.
Thanks for doing the good deed.

I'm going to be so bold as to say they will surpass $5,000 dollars with the mail in checks and money generated after the people who've just listened through the podcast segments, because didn't have talkshoe and are just now hearing it.

Hey all. Long time listener, first time poster. (though some of you may know me because I hax <_<) So on Sunday Colleen was talking about writing to talk shoe about the problems and to try and convince them to donate. Has there been any word from them about this? I posted about it on my new blog last night if any one is interested: audiblylost.blogspot.com/2008/03/buzz-kill-talk-shoe-f**ks-up-jay-and.html - sorry there some slightly vulgar language in the post, but I think I outlined most of the problems that you guys were having over the weekend. edit: d**n the forum censored the link lol... ill tinyurl it: tinyurl.com/27vxcrAwesome job on breaking the $3000 mark guys!

Congested - Talkshoe donated $100 But no apology or mention of what happened. I posted a blog about it too at collwrites.blogspot.com. I need to do an update post, but I'm really lazy. I'll do it tonight while Jay's recording, so I have something to keep me awake!

Well at least they did something. Still.... an aplogy would be nice. I think their live podcast about problems with Talk Shoe is today so I may call in to complain <_< www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=1631edit: well they don't seem to be doing it today, either that or I missed it. I did write them an email however, linking to my posts about it and colleen's and I said that it would be good if they apologized and addressed the problems as well as match all donations that Jay and Jack received for Autism Speaks. (doubtful but worth a shot) Anyway it was still fun last weekend and I look forward to future Jay and Jack live shows (hopefully problem-free).

Bump. Seems as if Talk Shoe got my email, this was in the comments on my blog post (here: tinyurl.com/27vxcr and here: audiblylost.blogspot.com/2008/03/talk-shoe-shows-pity-100-for-autism.html):Hello Colleen. I want to assure you that by no means did TalkShoe single out this call or do anything intentional to derail it. We have seen a very heavy demand for TalkShoe in the last weeks and this may unfortunately have impacted the call. We think that the call for Autism is a great cause and will do everything we can to help make the most of the event. Having the call up for 24 hours is no easy task but we understand that is no excuses for the failures. I personally apologize for any inconvenience this may has caused, as we strive to provide not only a service that people can use for free but one that is reliable. If you have any further issues please continue to email support or call our support telephone number. Aaron Brauser VP Product Management www.talkshoe.com--- Well at least they apologized. Though it seems they confused me for Colleen. :S -- edit: it seems he just copy/pasted the same info in all the blog comments.
