Hey Jay and Jack.
I just listened to your Christmas Podcast, and I have something to add to your answer about Nadia.
Remember that on the DVDs there was a Deleted sceane of Sayid in the Airport looking for a tie, because he was meeting a girl (Nadia).
So that means if something did happen to her in that one day, Sayid didn't know.
But I still don't know why he said she was dead.
